privacy and confidentiality

In order to fulfil statutory obligations and to provide a high standard of care, we need to collect information about children and parents/guardians enrolled at the service. The following principles apply to the collection and use of information:

  • Information collected will only be used by our childcare professionals to enable them to deliver care of the highest standards to fulfil its statutory obligations necessary to operate the service.
  • Information collected, including identifying CRN numbers, will not be disclosed to anyone not associated with the care of the child/children without the express consent of the parent/guardian, and then only used or disclosed for the service's primary purpose unless otherwise directed by specified lawful authority.
  • Reasonable steps are taken to ensure children and parent's/guardian's information collected is accurate, complete and up to date. Personal information collected is securely held and protected from misuse or toss and from unauthorised access or disclosure.
  • Information can be accessed by the parent/guardian at any time, however, there may be a fee levied to cover the cost associated with the processing of this request.
  • Should the occasion arise, unless there is a good practical or legal reason to require identification, parents/guardians or other individuals have the option to provide information anonymously
